Great site!! I've been using CoolRunning.com for quite some time and have just recently found this site. I'm hooked! :)

The reason for my post is because I've logged all of my runs (down to the second, temperature, weight, shoes, etc...) in CoolRunning.com and I would like like to transfer the data to MapMyRun.com. CoolRunning.com offers the ability to "Export" my data to CSV format, but I can't find a way to import this data into MapMyRun.com. I have heaps of running data and would really like to consolidate into MapMyRun.com.

For what it's worth, I'm a programmer. Is there a public API or a webservice that I could use to add my data programmatically? If so, please let me know and (once I finish it) I'd love to share it with anybody else that would like to import their data to MapMyRun.com.

     Again, great site!!

    Hi Lucas-

We don't currently have a way to import this CSV data, but we would love to help with this.  I'll followup with you via email so you can send me this csv file for analysis.  The web service/API idea could happen too.  Check your email Smile.

I would be interested in this as well. Coolrunning just changed their running log substantially and there are a lot of unhappy users looking for alternatives.

I too am one of those who got migrated over from CoolRunning to ActiveTrainer and would appreciate being able to migrate my CoolRunning log to a site that's more user friendly that active.

One thing I've been looking for is the ability to import "events".  I'd like to generate a training plan on something like RunnersWorld.com then import the whole plan into my events calendar.
       What do you think?

I would also like a mmf api.  I run 3-4 times per week, and use mmr to find runs and track my training.  On days I don’t run, I would like an easy way to upload my vitals (weight and resting heart rate) without browsing to mmr.com.

I would like a mmf api to drive a vista, igoogle or netvibes gadget that would store my logon info and could upload this data from my pc or customizable web page.

I'd like the information to get my training log over too, if someone can help me.  I'll be the first to say I am technologically challenged,,,so be patient.  I've been using coolrunning.com for a year and don't like the new active.com transition either...

    Thanks!

Bump to the top...I've been watching the "Import Data (Coming Soon)" for some time now.  Map My Run's site is great, but I thought I'd have been able to upload my Cool Running Log by now.  I hope MMR is getting close with this feature!  I want to keep using this site, both because I like it, and because I don't want to have to look for another online log.  (It's hard even to bring myself to register for a race on Active now.  I'm still bent about the crummy transition they implemented with Cool Running.)

Unfortunately we paused on Workout Data import project as the biggest source would have been CoolRunning.com and I was under the impression that they ceased allowing people to export?

Let us know ... We do have an API available that we can give access to a private few if some people want to take on this task!

     Thanks, Kevin.

I wasn't aware that Cool Running exports were completely shut down, but I am certainly not surprised!

In the early days of the CR to Active transition, there was a workaround that allowed Cool Running users to get a csv export of their logs.  I have had a CSV on my desktop for a handful of months now.  I would guess that others may be in the same boat.

Is there a way to poll your user group to see how many people may have their CSV export file from Cool Running.  If I'm the only one, then I'll just be quiet!  :)

    Kevin,

I might be interested in taking on the task of importing data through your API.  Depending on how much work it would be.  I would love it if this site had the ability to import running data from a Garmin 305

Count me as someone waiting on this feature to be developed, though I would be importing from bikejournal exports.

I am user of runmania.com.  It is polish service but I use it only because I can not import my logs to any other service. It offers export in CSV format so I am looking forward for new features too.

I do not know how many people I may represent, but I cannot fathom spending ~$50/yr on premium service if I cannot input my years of prior logs into mapmyrun.com.   I have a coolrunning CSV file that's been sitting on my desktop since the transition to Active.com.  I really like this service and might consider the higher level membership, but I need to get my other data into this app...Otherwise, I'm gonna have to spend the $5 to export my data and do this stuff in Excel on my own.  There are other online pedometers that one can use.

"paused on Workout Data import project"??  Shoot...I've been waiting for and checking for this feature for months.  Like tthatche, I've been "holding" my running data from my Garmin 305 (in motionbased.com).  I really want to consolidate it here and have been waiting for the ability to import it.

Please un-pause and give us this feature that's been COMING SOON for far too long.

    Thanks, Scot

    Lucas and Jeff,

Any updates to the upload features for Garmin, especially the FR305?
