Can anyone give me a little insight on this.  I am training for a marathon in May.  Lately on every run that I go on I start getting hot spots on the bottoms of my feet in the arch of both feet after running about four miles.  By mile 6, they are full out blisters.  These are not new shoes.  They are Asic Spevas with about 60 miles on them and they never gave me a problem before.  I even went to the local running store and got a pair of insoles, but to no avail.  Any Ideas out there?  PS the blister gel didn't fix the problem either, and I can't loose any training time with this.

    lloydb3-

I'm afraid I'm not a blister sufferer, but have read from others who are that powder on the feet (baby powder) can really help. Wish I had more for you. Sorry. Maybe someone else has something? It's likely it's your shoes (as they "settle in" the fit can change) but you'll never know for sure. Can you afford to get a second pair and switch them out?

I second the suggestion to try Wrightsocks double layer socks.  I was introduced to them about 3 months ago and they completely elimated my issues with hotspots and blisters.

thanks for the ideas.  I'm already using the wright socks, but they aren't helping.  I might try the powder for the next week and ee if it makes a difference.  Just did a 10 miler today and got another one in the same spot.  I think that new shoes are going to be the answer next week if this doesn't clear up.
