In reading a bunch of safety articles, many of them say don't run with headphones as it keeps you from noticing what's around you. I cannot run without my music. As a compromise, I've been running with just one headphone in but the other one is driving me nuts, bouncing around, pulling the other ear out. Does anyone know of a single ear headphone that's available?

I'm thinking from your name you're female...??

Try tucking the other headphone in your bra..that's what I do.  Or, use a safety pin to pin it on the inside of your shirt.

If you have some headphones which you don't mind destroying, why not simply cut the other headphone off?

I've noticed that if I keep my music at a fairly low volume - probably lower than if I used it for other recreation - I can hear vehicles, people, and other random sounds just fine.

I encourage everyone to do this, one headphone or two, for the greatly reduced chance of hearing loss, as well as for being aware of surroundings.

What about a hands-free set for a cell phone (obviously not a Blue Tooth or anything)? I think they sell adapters to convert the jack size.

When I run I only use one headphone and I tuck the other through my headband.  So its not bouncing around and has the support to not pull out my other one.   So far it works.

Hearing is over rated....It's much more fun to have a little yappy dog scare the hell out of you when you are running.....but im not so sure how much fun getting run over would be....you could go old school and get the cassett player walkman with the speaker on it! HA good stuff.
