I see the scale going up, although I see more defined muscle. Any suggestions on how to build leaner muscle and help the scale go down...?

Hi, I'm the same. I look like I've lost weight, but the scales keep going up. It's so frustrating!!

I've been told to do yoga or pilates because they make your muscles leaner. Howver, apparantly if I keep it up and keep building muscle the muscle will slowly burn the fat and the scales will go down. I just have to be patient, which is so hard for me.... So I'm guessing it's the same for you.

You didn't mention anything about what you are eating.  Exercise is part of the equation; but your food intake is key.

Keep doing what you're doing!  If you're seeing the muscle become "more defined" then you are losing that layer of fat which sits on top of the muscle as well as gaining muscle.

Forget about weight loss.  What you want is fat loss.  There's no point losing weight if it's muscle as that just makes your body less efficient at burning calories and makes it even harder to lose fat.

There is no such thing as "leaner" muscle just as there is no "fatter" muscle, only bigger and smaller muscle.   Muscle is muscle  and fat is fat.  Yoga, pilates, etc. give you smaller muscle because they focus on endurance rather than strength and power.

Unless you're worried about looking too muscular use a tape measure instead of scales or better still get some scales that measure body fat as well.  Sounds like you're doing great but you may need to adjust how you define your goal at the moment.  Put it in terms of body fat loss, not the indiscriminate term "weight loss".
