I am attempting to map bike routes in and around Lakeville, Indiana. Some of the street names are incorrect on the mapmyride map, although they are correct on Google maps. The street names have not changed in decades, so if you are using Google maps as your source, the names should be correct on your map.

In one case, an east-west street in town is labelled with the name of a north-south road that is at least 3 miles from town.

Besides calling streets by the wrong name, I have learned the hard way that you need to double check the turn by turn directions against the map if you intend to use them as a cue sheet for a ride.  The programming seems to get confused between left and right sometimes.

I mapped out a 24 mi loop ride, and because the turn by turn told me to turn left where the map turned right, I ended up riding 36 miles.  I have since caught it doing this several times.

Google maps uses two street data providers, Navteq and Tele Atlas. Both have advantages and disadvantages as well as certain inaccuracies. The best way to get something corrected is by contacting the street data provider.

At least your streets show up! In my map, streets that have been there for years (no exaggeration) are still not there. It's really frustrating, to say the least!

Or when 'follow roads' won't go down a certain road, either way!  But, if I turn off 'follow roads', then place a point on the road, it will now follow the road, once I turn that feature back on.  Very strange.
