I just got a Garmin 305. I also just made a running map/route and then saved it as a download on my computer (Mac) to the Garmin. However, I don't know how to transfer, or upload it to my Garmin. Do you? Thanks, Jeff

To be more specific, you download the route at a .CRS file to your computer. Then hook up the Garmin to the computer and fire up Training Center. Within training center under "File" there is the "Import Courses". Click on this and then choose the .crs file you downloaded.

It will import the course into your Training Center. You then pick "export to device" (I use the buttons at the top of the screen) and it will send the course to the Garmin.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you so much for this advice!! It's taken me forever to figure this out - I got it to the .crs file, but didn't know how to get it onto my Garmin. This is great!

    Here's my new favorite:

I have loved this site...but just got my Garmin 305 and like this better.  Records more info and I don't have to use multiple sites, and is easier to track specific workouts instead of creating a new map for each download of my Garmin.

Can anyone tell me if this will work with other Garmin units?  I am thinking about purchasing the eTrex Vista HCx.

    Thanks,

    Paul

My training center (version 3.0.2) does not give an "Import Courses" choice, only "Import History" or "Import Workouts".  Both of which are default file types other than .crs. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, and I'm not generally a computer idiot.   Why isn't this process explained better in either the Garmin documentation or MapMyRide?

     So, the short question is:

What is the process to upload a saved MapMyRide route to my Garmin Edge 305 using my Training Center version 3.0.2?

    thanks,

PS, I have tried to update my Training Center to the current version of 3.3.4.0 multiple times but every time after downloading the update when it attempts to extract I get an "Invalid  Command Line Parameter (restart)" error message.
