    Hi,

     I have lax ligaments and i am relatively new to running (6 months). So far i have had one injury, a serious post tib strain (was almost a rupture). After a month off running and most walking this has recovered well, however I am still getting some pain on my medial ankle, leg and foot from time to time. From what i gather talking to my podiatrist and physiotherapist, I have lax ligaments. This was not helped by wearing a crap pair of shoes when i first started out running, so my foot had no support, as my muscles tightened, my foot was pulled out of shape and my tendons etc were strained.

    Now, since my injury has recovered, i have a better shoe and i have been a bit smarter about cycling a bit instead of running to get a rest from the pattern. HOwever! i still feel as my muscles develop from running, and get tighter in my legs, my tendons stretch and this causes me strain. i do stretch. Has anyone else got this type of consitituton and knows what I am talking about? managed it and prevented / avoided injury? please let me know. I guess from my past injury being so serious any aches and pains i am now stressed about, which is good - i needed to be far more cautious than i was last time
