I think I have been running with my current trainers for way to long.  I have probably had them (Asics Gel Solutions TN672) for 3 or 4 years but I've only actually used them for running for 8 months out of the past year.  Before that I used them for the gym and the very occasional run/walk.  Now that I have been running between 4 and 7 miles 4-5 days a week for the past few months, I am really starting to notice that it's time for new trainers.  I have a pair of Asics GEL TN661 which I thought were pretty much the same but they are extremely uncomfortable.  I am now living in the UK so can't find Asics Gel Solutions and wondered if by chance, anyone happens to be able to recommend a good running shoe for me?  My current trainers are killing me as I now have constant blisters and it's making running really miserable:-(

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Most often after about 500 miles, people need to replace their shoes.  You can't get the asics that you want online??  If you already know that they work for you, that is your best bet.

3 or 4 years? go to a running shoe store and let them fit you for an up to date pair :)

3-4 years is definitely too long. 500 miles may be too long. The advice I have always seen is 3-500 miles. For me, I need to get new shoes after about 250 miles and I make a point of NOT wearing my active pairs of running shoes for anything else, including going to the gym. Save them for the road or trail or treadmill.

Yeah I wasn't running in them so I didn't think it was an issue but then I realised I'm an idiot.  So I went to one of those SBR stores and the guy recommended Adidas Supernova CTLs so that's what I'm wearing now.  My feet feel great!  And I have now started to track my usage so I will replace them after 500 miles or so.  Thanks =)
