Every time I close my browser and come back to the site I have to login again.  It gets quite annoying especially if I'm doing multiple work outs in a day or if I'm looking for a new ride.

Is this due to you using a Session variable instead of a persistant cookie?  What gives?  It's quite annoying.

    Otherwise, I love the site.

    Thanks.

Bump!  Still having the problem.  Even when I click "Remember Me".

Dude, I don't think this is a browser issue, I've posted about this in a couple of different forum threads that other people have started as well - there's a general problem with how you guys are maintaining log in state, either over a session, or over a longer period with the 'remember me' functionality (that is extremely forgetful ;-)

FWIW, I am using Firefox 3.0 on a os x 10.5 and have the problem tshults is describing here.  In fact even if I don't close my browser, I will lose my login status when coming back to the site later on in the day.

Gotta chime in here. I never tried the "remember me" feature on the old version of the site. I did soon after the new version came up and have not had to log into the site from my home PC since then. For me it is working perfectly! I have winXP, IE7, all Microsoft's latest patches.

I have the same issue where I have to log in each time even when I click 'remember me'.  This is annoying!  It only started happening when since the site was upgraded a few weeks ago.

    Is anyone looking into this?

    Thanks,

Here's a thought, does it depend on what URL you come into the site on?  I come in through mapmyrun.com ... I wonder if it works with one of the other urls, like mapmyfitness.com?

    i just performed a little experiment ...

I logged in through mapmyfitness.com and clicked on remember me.  I closed down the browser, and then restarted.  Came back to the mapmyfitness.com address, and I was still logged in.

I logged out of mapmyfitness.com, and then browsed to mapmyrun.com instead.  I logged in, again clicking on remember me.  I quit the browser, restarted, and browsed back to mapmyrun.com.  And this time, I was not still logged in.

Conclusion, the remember me function works on mapmyfitness.com, but not on the mapmyrun.com URL.  My guess would be that this might prove the case for all the other subsidary URLs, and the remember me function only works on the main URL of mapmyfitness.com.  But I am not so sad that I am going to check 'em all ;-)

    Happy trails people

I've been on vacation.  So that's why I haven't responded.

I use FF 3.0 on XP.  I'm going to try coming through MapMyFitness.com to see what happens.
