Help!: Elevation - Mt. Tam is 2400 ft, my route only shows 1000 ft ascent

 My ride starts at sea level then climbs Mt. Tamalpais which is 2400 ft.  My route I plotted shows only 1000 ft ascent.  It should be much greater than 2400 (like 3-4000) because of the up/down along the way.  A link to the map is below.  Any ideas what I may have done wrong?
