Whenever I print I only get the center of the race course and not the complete course which is what I see when I select the Print button.
Is there a setting or some other thing I should be doing in order to print the entire course?
Thank you,
Marty
We do the print that way to get over some bugs that Google Map has -- The Google Team is working on them so in the meantime our print is not perfect. We're working on ways to improve this. We know there are problems with cutting out and some road names do not appear...
If you want to do portions, or a different view, I recommend you try using the full-screen mode and take manual screenshots that you can then paste into a word document, etc.

I've never got the elevation profile with my maps.
I am having the same problem as others. The printed map only shows the center of the route and crops out the top and bottom portions. Since you have acquired RouteSlip.com, I suggest you incorporate their technology as soon as possible. Going elsewhere until you fix your problems.
When you get ready to print the map you must zoom it in till it fits the screen. Then it will print the whole map.
Also if you want to print the directions, you have the option of printing "Notes" along with the map. Or; You can open a Word Document, highlight the "Notes", hit the "Edit" tab on top of your Windows page, Hit "Paste Special" Highlight "Unformatted Text" and hit "Paste". This will give you "ONLY" the directions, without the highlighted cells. Then you can format it to fit the page, to best work for you.
We have mapped a bunch of rides out now with this. Works great once you get into it a bit. I even use it for my motorcycle rides. 300 to 500 mile rides. Love it.
Where is the "print routeslip" function with all the turns that I painstakenly added on routeslip.com???
I hate to do it but I'm headed over to bikely.

I would like to print a continuous map. We are riding from the Oklahoma border to the Nebraska border and we need to print continuously across sheets of paper we will be taping together to form one, long map. Is there a way to zoom in and have the print follow the rout at that zoom level?
Thanks!

I just tried this for the first time today and I think it's great! The only thing is that when I printed my route, the actual street map seems to have shrunk and now the route doesn't match where the streets actually are. I've tried in IE7 as well as Firefox. Firefox gives me the unmatched map/route. IE7 only gives me my notes and no map/route at all.
Anyone else have these problems?
Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion of taking manual screen prints, and then imbedding in Word. That works much better. The map I made was very good, and when I printed, it superimposed the route over Yahoo maps, but the route did not line up correctly with the map. It's like the route and the map were using different scales.
That problem aside, I like the website. It's a cool way to create routes and share them with people.
Thanks,
Rick
When creating routes in the Beta - all my turns seem to be duplicated when printing the route with Include marker notes and turns selected.
i.e.
Continue on King Rd/Shortsville Rd
25 miles
Any suggestions
My route has come out in blue, but is not in line with the actual roads that I was planning to go along....it seems that the route is not actually printing on the roads and therefore I have no idea which roads the route is on now......what am I doing wrong?

I have exactlythe same problem. When measuring/viewing it is fine. As soon as I try to print it the route is not aligned with the roads etc I traced it along. It's as though it is shifted along. No mile markers appear and hence, overall, the printed version is of no use.
Just have to memorise it all..... Hey Ho
NB A fix would be even better, obviously
You would think that a decent printing function would be a key part of a mapping tool. Routeslip.com (which MMR bought at the beginning of the year) had a decent print function. It used a Google Maps interface (which is what I understand MMR uses). You have to wonder why they didn't incorporate that technology when they bought routeslip.com. In fact, it doesn't seem as if they incorporated ANY of the features of routeslip.com. As I posted in another thread, it looks like the sole reason for purchasing routeslip.com was to eliminate competition.
Please fix it!!
Hi folks-
I am happy to announce that we have enhanced the print feature with new and improved maps. Getting printing working properly is a bit tricky, but we think that this is a significant enhancement to what has been available to date. When printing, make sure you're using the "print" button that's on top of the map.
Please let us know your experiences with this.

Well, it's not a perfect solution, but try exporting to a Google KML and then printing that. It does translate your mile markers, though the maps don't look as good as in MMR.
I'm honetly not a huge fan of the Mapquest print output option, but since this is a free user community tool that I LOVE, I'm really not going to complain too loudly. Besides, being a geographer, worst case I'll just crack open my desktop mapping program and make my own version if I really don't like my other options.
Hi Folks-
Mile marker printing is coming shortly (I'm working on it right now). As a matter of fact, we will soon be releasing a pretty big updates for printing maps which I think a lot of you will enjoy.

I love the maps, but obviously, I am just as computer incompetent as I always thought. When I go to print, only the elevation changes and final mileage prints out, no map, no notes, no anything. When I hit the print box in the middle of the upper page, the only thing that comes up is this box, where I can read everyone else's comments.

As a tool that I am using absolutely for free, this site has been a gas saver and just an excellent way to feel confident about what I'm doing. The printing improvements have been the norm for me as a newer user. But any enhancements will not bother me either. I have a lot of trouble with people who moan and complain about something they can get and probably do get for free. I say, you go ahead and use another service if you're really that picky about charity.
Thanks, mapmyrun.com, for being so generous and taking pride in your free product. I certainly appreciate its usefulness.
Maybe I have not yet had enough coffee today... but I'm missing something....
I go to http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/ma/fitchburg/460367501 and see a wonderful ride.
How exactly do I display/print out the turn/cue sheet... something showing me turn by turn instructions?
Thanks
