For Saturday- I just entered the starting trailhead at mile 13.5.  You can go south to mile 17.5 for a turnaround and complete 8 (or less) miles.  For those you you following the 1/2 calendar, you will not be increasing mileage this week (as long as you have been increasing and building for the last 3/4).  You guys would turn around at either mile marker 15 or 15.5.  If you are following the marathon training calendar, it is an appropriate week to reduce mileage by one or two miles or stay at the same mileage.  Since we exceeded our mileage last week and have been building now for 4 weeks- a recovery might be in order.  Listen to your body and if you haven't had (due to your schedule etc) a week of recovery, take it now.  You would generally back off you mileage for your long run.  I would goal to run 6-7 this saturday, then we can return to building next saturday.  If you are planning longer mileage (Colleen!)- let me know and you can run from the starting point north to mile marker 8.5 to complete a 10 mile run.  If you want to do this let me know and I will meet you earlier - 730am?? and get your run going.  Next week- something new-- we will get off this trail and explore a new area.  If you are exceeding one hour for your runs PLEASE bring water, carb source, and salt tab or electrolyte replacement...  If anyone is having any pain or physical issues... let me know!  Lastly- several people have expressed interest in The Race for The Cure- I would love to do this run- it doesn't really fit the training calendar and mileage... but is a great and fun run and i will be happy to do it with anyone who want to!  j

    hey Julie :-)

I think Saturday I may do 8 instead of going longer. I 'm getting that 'don't WANNA work out' feeling and I know from experience that's a sign to back off a bit. I may do a 5 miler tonight at the gym once my daughter goes to sleep, she had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted today and it's Mommy Nurse Day. She's 18 but sometimes still need 'babied'. I got my bike back from Trek and tomorrow I may go for a spin at SMP.

I will probably get there Saturday a bit earlier so I can get a walking warmup in, I usually warm up with a brisk walk for 15 minutes to loosen my legs up.

I will be doing Race for the Cure with my women's running group (SportsBras 2 SportsBars) but I will probably see some of you there.

Hey, I was there, I never was able to find the street that leads into the trailhead so I just started at the PrairieStar Parkway entrance. I ran 7 miles for 1:20. The end of the trail is weird, I was not sure where to go for the lat 2 miles and it was not marked well so I did a mini loop of the Mahaffie trail and ran back to my beginning. Fair run.

913-271-7396-- make sure you all have my cell phone number stored.  I always have it with me on Saturday am!  There were only a few people who ran the route we did last Saturday...  and me and Stacy did not turn to get back on the path... We can repeat (and follow correctly) this route... It is pretty flat with the exception of one fairly steep but short hill...  I am going to blow up the map so you can see the entrance.  It is in a neighborhood- but marked very well from the main road.  I will map, then come back and give written directions to the trailhead. j
