I only just started using MMR - very exciting, and looks like it could make the clumsy Memory Map software running in Parallels on my Mac obsolete - which would be great.

However, I do have a few little difficulties already - any insights would be appreciated. It's possible I'm missing something obvious, so apologies in advance if that's the case.

My goal is to map rides on MMR, then export to GPX so I can upload to my Garmin Geko 201, which I mount on my handlebars.

Problem no.1: The resulting GPX files come into the Geko as unnamed (blank) tracks. Is there any way to name them on MMR? Maybe it's possible to edit the GPX file directly - but that's kinda kludgy.

Problem no.2: This might be a Garmin/Geko-specific problem. Let's say I created two rides on MMR and exported them to two GPX files. When I upload both to the Geko (with the Mac version of GPS Babel) I end up with a single track, which happens to be the one I uploaded last. This may be because both tracks are (similarly) unnamed, so the second upload blitzes the first. But maybe the Geko can't handle multiple tracks being uploaded into its memory - I need to trouble shoot this another way...

Problem no.3: The automatic routing on MMR is incredible - such a time-saver - but it creates a lot of track points. The Geko can only handle 500 points per track. I know I can simplify the tracks in the command line version of GPS Babel (yack!) but could a track point limit/simplification ever be incorporated directly into MMR? Has anyone else figured out a workaround for this sort of thing?

    Thanks a lot!
