I can't seem to get a green light for the status of the GPS signal. I have the latest iTunes software, but I don't have the 3G. Must the iPhone be a 3G to work? I didn't think so... any advise?

    Hi Deb-

You do in-fact need a 3G iPhone to get a green GPS signal.  One of the main differences between the iPhone 1g and 3g is that the GPS has a built-in GPS receiver.  Unfortunately, the hardware in the original iPhone does not give a location accuracy that would work well for tracking applications.

However, there is good news!  As part of our iPhone development, we've updated our site with iPhone formatted web pages.  If you want to access the functionality of our our sites from your iPhone, you'll find iPhone optimized pages when you browse, so you can access your routes, training logs, and maps.

    Garth-

Do you see a yellow light, or is it just white?  Also, can you try exiting the app and relaunching it to see if it helps?  Also, you can try powering down and then up the phone (it helps sometimes), and make sure you're on the latest iPhone OS (as of now, 2.2).

Hi Jeff, My GPS status is sticking on white. I've tried exiting and relaunching and I've powered down and back up and nothing. I have a iphone 3g. My google map app is able to locate me no problem. Any ideas? Thanks, Erin
