Blackberry users unite!

If you're like me, you probably agree that a Blackberry is a great tool and should be perfect for using in partnership with a website like mapmyride.com. I currently use a Blackberry Curve 8330 and have a couple of thoughts about it:

I'm hoping that the mapmyride folks are working on an app for blackberrys similar to the imapmyride for the iPhone. And if they're not, then maybe if enough blackberry users respond here that they'll consider it. So, if you agree, follow up with a reply.

In the meantime, I've been experimenting with PTracking. It's a program that creates a *.kml tracklog that you can upload to mapmyride.com or google earth. I'm using the free demo version so it's a little limited and the whole process takes a few steps between having to plug in your blackberry and transfer it to the computer before uploading to the sites.

I'm also thinking about trying out MobileTracker for Blackberry.

How about other blackberry users? What are you using (phone and software) or thinking about using?

I was just looking for a running app on crackberry. Nothing looks worthwhile though. I have a curve and i think the GPS would really come in handy with a app for running.

I've been using Trimble's AllSport GPS, which does GPS tracking for various exercises on the blackberry and uploads the info to an online profile. I'd love to see something similar iwth MapMyRun --- there seem to be more functions with this website.

Something similar to the iMapMyRun function for the iPhone would be perfect.

There's a website dedicated to Blackberry and smartphones now, which is nice, but without the GPS function it's appeal to me is limited.

I'm hoping this is something that the company's working on, now that the iPHone has its program out there now.

I just got (7/1/2009) the MapMy newsletter with the announcement that they are now releasing a MapMy application for Blackberry. I immediately clicked on the link as I have just purchased a BB Curve 8330 (and love it) and was disappointed to find out that they are going to charge $4.99 per month to use the new application. Is there a charge for the iPhone application. No where that I could find. Why do BB users have to pay? I would even be willing to purchase the application but as a one time purchase and not as a reoccurring monthly fee.
