    Hi everyone,

I've just started running and am doing about 30mins / 5km every other night, just wondering what anyone more experienced or in the know thinks as to my entering the Bath Half Marathon on 16th March 2008?

I really want to do it!

Hi - you most certainly can do it!  You probably know this already - but build up slowly, doing one long run each weekend,(plus others during the week of course) building by about 10% (no more) each week.  You'll be doing quite long runs before you know it and putting in lots of kms.  Getting used to running for that long is key - in the longer term you can think about speed etc.

    Hi Lucy

I also am training for the Bath half in 2008 - it's my first half- I've done a few 5K's and one 10K and thought it would be good for my next challenge. My husband has decided to run it with me- but  he has a completely different running pase to me. We can do it Lucy- also if you start to feel any twinges don't run through them because its so easy to injure yourself and put your self back a few weeks best to cut a training short and stretch and have a break then force an injury.

    Take care and good luck

    Jody
