Bike Ride Description
The objective of this extremely flat route is to ride as close to the bay shoreline as
possible. Good free parking at Washington Park starting point. About 1//3 of the ride is
on paved bike paths, the rest on roadways with light traffic. About 2/3 of the ride is at, or
very near the water. Central Ave is a pleasant ride through downtown Alameda and the ride through the
Navy Base is quite different. A nice rest stop is at the end of pier where the USS Hornet
aricraft carrier is anchored with a great view of an San Francisco
