Bike Ride Description
This ride starts out simple down University, Main, Davis, St Mary's to Silverbell. Up Silverbell to Ina. The climb begins here once you reach the Santa Cruz. Through to Sabino Canyon around to Tanque Verde to Bear Canyon. Up Bear Canyon, down Snyder to Soldier Trail. Down Soldier Trail and you can see the Hill of Freeman road in the distance. Back to Tanque Verde to Tanque Verde Loop across the Tanqe Verde Creek (DO NOT CROSS IF WATER IS RUNNING ACROSS THE ROAD, THE ROAD IS A FOOT BELOW THE CREEK BED.) Up the other side, left on Speedway to the Hill of this ride, Freeman Road. This is a LONG up hill and has a few kicker hills on it. Once at the top you will be on Old Spanish Trail. A short stop at the Saguaro National Park for water and back onto OSP to Escalante. Down Esalante to Houghton and then to Irvington. Down Irvington to Kolb, Back towards Tucson to Escalante. Head West on Escalante, but get on the bike path instead of the roadway and you are on the Aviation Bikepath. Follow the bike path (watch out for the runners and walkers at Freedom Park) and exit at Highland. Ride north on Highland and enter the University of Arizona. Turn left at the Mall and head around Old Main back onto University and back to the start point. On the southeast corner is a nice coffee place to fuel up for your ride home.

Great ride. I did it in the reverse direction and started on the NW side where I live. Had the luxury of riding down freeman (lot easier that way).
