I am looking for some advise on Knee Pain.  After a 6 mi run I started having pain in my left knee.  I just started to hit 35 miles a week.  After laying off for a few day and icing on and off the pain was gone only go come back after i did 1 mile.

I don't have any swelling and it seems not to hurt when walking.  Also, at first it only hurt going up and down stairs and now that has stopped.

I went to the chiroprator  and she felt my hip was off and the knee was ok.  On my last run I did 3 miles and about 1.5 miles in the pain started and I was able to run through it.

Does anyone esle run through their knee pain until it passes?  Are there any stretches I should be doing to help my knee etc?

    Thanks for any help.

Where is the knee pain? If it is on the outside of your knee, it could be your IT band. The IT band runs from the hip to the knee and could be why your hip was off.   A great remedy for IT band problems is the foam roller.  Do a google search on IT band.  It will also have some stretches as well.  If it is in the front part of your knee, check out patellar tendonitis.  FYI latest studies are showing that most knee and ankle issues are due to weak glutes.

The pain is on the outside of the knee.  I am going to try the IT Band stretches.

    Thanks.

If you can get yourself to a gym or a friend with a foam roller, you'll get rid of that pain a lot quicker.  Foam rollers are like magic Wink Take a peek at the following article  http://www.performbetter.com/catalog/matriarch/MultiPiecePage.asp_Q_PageID_E_91_A_PageName_E_ArticleMyofacialRelease
