After the launch of the new site, I've been trying to figure out if I'll lose my map my run points.  I found a place on the site that says that those with more than 4,500 points will be "grandfathered in" so that they will not lose their points.  This implied that it was not necessary to purchase a premium membership to be able to redeem the points, so long as you have more than 4,500.  (Those with less than 4,500 points will lose them all).  ALSO, there's nowhere on the new site that explains how to redeem the points, only a survey to take.  My questions are:

1.) Do I have to purchase a premium membership to be able to keep my points, or redeem them?

2.) How do I find out how to redeem my points?  I just earned enough to get a gift card, and I'd like to redeem soon.

3.) What happens to those of us who have more than 4,500 points, but choose not to purchase premium memberships?

    Hi Labaum,

Hopefully this will answer some of your questions:

    1) Right now we put MapMyPoints redemption behind Premium Membership - we lost our MapMyPoints sponsor and so are possibly faced with redeeming awards ourselves.  To protect us against writing 2,000 $100 gift cards, we had to temporarily put redemption behind Premium Membership so if it's the case, we're able to afford it for everyone.  It's my hope that we can sign on a big sponsor soon so we can make this public to everyone again.

    2) This program is still 'on hold' -- we're still counting everyone's MapMyPoints and we're actively contacting sponsors that people have suggested through our survey.  We're hoping to line up a major brand by end of this summer.

    3) When we say grandfathered in, that means that if we make the final decision to put redemption behind Premium Membership, you will still be able to redeem even though you choose not to become a Premium Member

I really appreciate your patience with all of this -- We're really trying hard to do the best for everyone who uses the site!

    Cheers - Kevin
