Not the greatest run, but convenient to downtown. Follow the firetrail at the beginning. After a few curves it becomes a trail. Unfortunately the trail was decimated by the heavy rains of 2004-5, and now is more like a Marine obstacle course. Hard on the ankles. After a mile or so the trail emerges at a road. Cross it and take the fireroad down. Lots of gay cruising in this area. (If you don't mind extra hard pavement, you can go down a level and take the road that circles the little-known but pretty Elysian Park reservoir.) When the fire road ends at a paved road, you can either take this back to your starting point, or plunge downhill into Solano Canyon picnic grounds first.
